This is a Ruger SR 1911 I engraved for a customer as a memorial for their daughter who had passed away. He started off just wanting a little bit of engraving on the slide. I did that, he picked it up, loved it, brought it back in. I added a little bit more engraving, he picked it up, brought it back in… so it’s kind of like a tattoo. He just kept adding to it until the whole gun was pretty much covered.
The top is covered with engraving. Both sides are covered. He also had me put his daughter’s name on both sides as well. And it is a memorial to her and an heirloom piece for him now. He’s never getting ride of this gun.
The grips are really beautiful and I wish I could tell you I did those but they were on the gun when he brought the piece in. They accent everything else about the gun and the different textures going this way and that way are absolutely amazing. They feel really good in your hand.
On this piece, everything just came together perfectly. It is one of the finished guns I am most proud of.
